A non-profit educational organization for round dance leaders world-wide, established in 1976 by round dance teachers to provide a framework for standardizing various aspects of the activity such as dance figures, cue terms, cue sheet format and teaching methodology.

The UNITED SQUARE DANCERS OF AMERICA, INC. (USDA) was formed on June 26, 1981, during the National Square Dance Convention held in Seattle, Washington, and has grown to a size that approaches the representation of 250,000 dancers throughout the United States. USDA is an organization formed by dancers, for dancers, and is under the operational control of dancers.

The Canadian Square and Round Dance Society (CSRDS) was formed to establish a national organization to deal with matters involving the activity. (The word "square" is generic and encompasses all the activities under our "umbrella" activity)
IAGSDC
International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs

The IAGSDC supports gay and lesbian Modern Western Square Dance (MWSD) clubs worldwide, including the United States, Canada and Japan. Our organization was formed by and for lesbians and gay men and for their friends. Membership in IAGSDC clubs is open to all square dancers, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, ethnic background, or sexual orientation.
